Default MyColor questions?

The book seems rather vague on how to change the dash lights with the MyColor option. Anyone made and saved changes?

1) Enter MyColor display

2) hit reset until it displays the "MyColor" selection

3) Hold reset for about 3 seconds

4) Now you set the intensity of the red, green, and blue LED's (works like a computer monitor)

5) hit info to go back to the display. (you can only save one color)

I wish I had the MyColor background. Would Ford be able to upgade the computer to allow it to do that?

there was a topic on here a while ago about getting the upgrade. It is not just the computer, but the entire guage panel because it also adds a message center. I think they said the upgrade was about $200, which in my opinion isn't really worth it. But if you look around you can find it somewhere in this forum.

OK, thanks for the info, I just changes the dash lights to a nice blue color. It looks good in the Tungsten Grey car. I might change it to orange next time.

Actually to change the gauges its more than 200 cause you have to remember the cost of labor.

i wasnt sure the exact cost, if you look into the forum a bit you can find it. Somebody went to the dealer and got an actual quote. I already had it in my car, so wasnt too interested. But its not taht the lights cost $200. They have to add extra buttons over the radio, and change the guage cluster to add the lights and a message center. Its probably close to 200 in parts, like he said.
