Hey petah50 I am located in Dallas. I was thinking about doing dual also. So the shop is going to fabricate an H pipe for you? Do you have the information on the shop? If it's good work I will drive down and get mine done also. Every other weekend I am in Houston...
Pcastle,

It's Ripley's mufflers. Located on the northside about 5 miles west of I-45. They have done exhaust work on all of my mustangs. They have always done a great job. I'd be happy to send you pics of the install and any other info you might need.

I will be installing my DS GT muffler at some point this fall (realistically). As for the bumper... do I cut or do I replace? Can someone post a super close-up photo of what a cut bumper looks like? I want it to look perfect, and not like it was done by a six-year-old with a steak knife. Somebody mentioned that you will have great difficulty aligning a GT rear bumper properly.

As for the H-pipe, how does one ask for this at the muffler shop? Do you just say, "I need a custom H-pipe made so I can run duals"?

Yeah, I am in Houston. The shop is located on FM1960 & kuykendahl. I have not had a chance to take pics yet. I will post some up tomorrow. They did a great job. It took a little less than 2 hrs to complete. I am very happy with it!!

These shop quotes sound good to me, but does this include the cost of left-side hangers? I understand that you can use your right-side leftover, but you're still short one hanger, am I right? And these things cost somewhere around $50. Can a muffler shop use some sort of generic hanger instead of the costly Ford ones?

Some newbie questions... do you need to buy Ford hangers to hang your H-pipe, or will a muffler shop obtain the necessary hardware for you? As for the valance, has anyone here tried to make a lip for the cutout (you know the thing I'm talking about? That little flat piece of body material that sits above the muffler tip).

I already had all of the hangers. In fact I still have one left over. I got a great deal with both take off mufflers all 4 hangers and the pipe from the drivers side muffler to the new H-pipe. I am sure a muffler shop could easily fab new hangers.
