No... WS6 is the highest end model for the Firebird Trans Am, just like SS is to Camaro, as Cobra is to Mustang.

I've always liked WS6's...
I always thought the easy way to spot a WS6 or regular T/A was the massive ram air scoops in the hood?
I think they look like a mean *** shark kinda thing...It just says "I eat Toyotas and Sh*T hondas"
At this point in time, I have dropped my rivalries with my GM and Mopar buddies...We must unite against Rice!

True, but isn't WS6 the chassis code for the 98-02 Firebirds also? If not i've always thought the wrong thing...thanks for the correction!

I had a Trans Am (1999) the WS6 is the ram air version of the Trans Am -- mine was the regular Trans Am rated at 310 hp as I recall. The WS6 version was rated something like 340 hp. It isn't the chassis code, the WS6 has a badge on the rear end, as well as bigger hood scoops for the ram air.

Ok guys, this info comes from my uncle in Alabama, the chevy tech guy. He says that WS6 only deonotes that the firebird has the WS6 suspension package. WS6 is suspension oriented, he said If anyone doesnt believe it, check the manufacture data codes that are posted from the factory in most camaros and firebirds, itll say wierd crap like LT1 engine, QS2 steering, WO4 wheels, and of course... WS6 suspension. The WS6 doeshave more HP, but the WS6 stands for suspension I think.
