Default Exhaust

Hey I have a couple questions regarding exhaust systems for a 2006 V6 mustang. I was looking into buying a single exhaust system for the V6 for a larger sound, I read that it only takes about 35 minutes to take off the stock muffler, and put on another. What brand/kind would be best? Can you replace it with the stock muffler at any time? Also, someone else told me that it would get worse gas consumption, is that even possible? I guess the final thing that worries me is voiding the manufacturer's warranty.

If you are staying with a single exhaust then installing is really easy. You can also just as easily re-install the stock one back on. As for sound, duals seem to sound better, I am very pleased however with my single Flowmaster axle-back. If you want to see which exhausts sound best to you, check out the exhaust sounds sticky in the Drivetrain Performance section. Neither the single or duals will void your warranty, Ford just won't cover the piece you replace. Gas mileage supposedly is better, but I wouldn't know, I have a leadfoot...[sm=gears.gif]

Its all in what sound makes your ears smile. I bought a pair of GT takeoffs from Casotech on ebay for $80 including shipping, pretty cheap. Ive only installed the one on the passenger side for now, and yeah it took about 30 minutes and presto, done! My buddy at work has a blue 98 GT with x pipe and dual magnaflows. I have rode next to him down the road and it sounds VERY similar on acceleration. I cant wait to get the other muffler on to make it duals, itll be louder yet!!! lol GT takeoffs are a cheap way out if your wanting to save a few dollars. But JBA and MRT have some really good mufflers that really sound sweet, the have a much greater sound and a much greater price...lol Just some ideas!
