Today i was reaching into my car because the windows were down but the doors were locked. Got something out of the center console before i headed back in the house and the alarm went off. I never knew the car came with a motion sensor. Probably everyone knew but i didnt thought it was cool o_O

the only downfall to all these great security systems is that....POLICE DONT GO LOOK WHEN ONE IS RINGING

sorry, i just had to say that because a few days ago i heard a car alarm going off in a parking lot and i saw a police just sitting in his car chilling, didnt even look over

Yea there pretty much just to draw attention to citizens then you haft to hope there smart/brave enough to say something like "hey is that your car!?" IM calling the police" LOL You usually tell if its there car or not by watching them disarm it and get in and drive away or shuffle around through stuff and walk away with alarm still on

I didn't even know we had a motion sensor. I don't remember mine doing it.

I don't believe all S197's have the active alarm system. Check your window sticker. Like the original poster, I didn't know I had it on mine 'til I reached through the window to get something (doesn't work on ragtops when the top is down). Glad I have it - the alarm scared away one creaton who was a little too curious about the interior of my car.

Exactly, it was an upgrade from the factory. I beleive the motion sensor for the interior is where the dome lights are located on the roof.
There are also alot of sensors in the car with this upgrade. Hood/Trunk/Incline and if any are tripped, you are notified on your info center.

Also, the luck early 05's with this get the remote power windows.

I didn't think my car came with an alarm system. In fact, I thought it was one of the only two options I did not get (along with the MyColor thingy).

However, I was installing my LCAs and started jacking the rear end way up. I locked the doors because my 3-yr old loves to climb in when I'm working on the car, but it was up on stands which could prove dangerous if he got by me w/o me noticing.

Lo and behold... the damn horn started blaring. I thought something was wrong with the car, so I hit the button on the FOB. I started jacking up the other side, and it happened again! Finally, I just gave up and unlocked the doors.

So I've been wondering for a while what the hell those little tiny speaker looking things were in my map light area... now it makes sense. Those are probably the motion sensors. I've been wondering about that since I bought the damn car!
