Default First time at the track

Hey everyone, well i went to the track, i am dissappointed at my times. Granted it was my first time out there. Here is my info

RT: .4273
60ft: 2.6565
330ft: 7.2410
1/8 et: 11.0492
1/8 mph: 64.62

elevation is approx 800'
humidity approx 75
temp approx 85

That was my fastest run. Won it, just due to the other guy getting a red light. Any comments for improvements and maybe explanations as to why i am running so slow??

im not sure what normal 3.8s run, since this is the 4.0 forum.

for one, your 60' time is really really really bad, so ur either bogging it off the line, or spinning like nobody's business. Im still n/a and ive cut a 2.009 60' time with dr's an a 2.017 on the stock pirelli street tires.

whats a good 1/8th time for the 99+ 3.8s?

i did a total of 5 or 6 runs. the last one was my best 1/8et. Right before i was about ready to run, the bike that took off in front of me well, his fender shattered. so i had to back up and i think i dipped into the water box. I did spin bad on that one so i am thinking i may have been able to pull off .2 secs faster. Another thing is that the whole night i was riding with someone, except for that last run. from what i have read is that the 3.8's run like 15.5 and on in the 1/4. I think that equells out to like 9.8 in the 1/8. My question is, would the elevation, temp, and humidity cause me to lose a second? Also, is there anyway to calculate what my time would be like at sea level and with a humidity of 0%?

not sure about the humidity factor, but they do make a sea level correction chart. at 800 ft ur prolly lookin at a tenth in the quarter mile. also i really doubt many 3.8s run 15.5 stock, sure its possible, but not the norm.

so what was ur best 60' of the night?
im at 1243ft here, so my 9.311 1/8th is in the low 9.2 range at sea level.

They can run 15.5 stock, but yes, you need a good driver. One reason i think i am doing horrible is due to the fact that i still have the stock 15" pos's on,lol. Not getting much traction. Next friday i am gonna go again and see if i can improve just by myself. My best 60ft was a 2.5146. Just practice is all i need.

you will run better times with 15' rims than with a larger diameter rim
