i buy american 1st foreign second......enough said, (if i were ot get another car and would be a bmw or mercedes, while honda and nissan are good, toyota is ok , and you forgot to mention vw's (my mom has had two and ive known many who have and hated em), my probem is that amongst the following companies (for the most part) mitsubishi, toyota, honda, nissan, and kia, all their cars look the same, sound the same, (with a few exceptions), they are boring, and worht nothing when you are done with em, i bought my mustang as a daily driving investment, i dont see anyone collecting any of those car companies cars...so what does that say about american auto makers?

Look at all the rasict @ssholes. You wouldn't call a black man a n!gger, why do you this it's ok to call a Japanese person a Jap? It's a rascial slur just the same and has no place on this board.

okay....here is what happens, and yes, they are now getting in trouble for it

Company in japan makes a car a for a certain price.
People in japan are very loyal to japanese companies (i dont know if you have ever met japanese people for japan, they are very loyal, and american's who like to wave around the flag do not even come close to how these people are)
Because of loyalty, japanese people will normally buy a japanese car, regardless of the cost (to a reasonable extent)
The car companies know this and jack the price up in japan
This allows them to sell them extremely under-priced in america, keeping their profits where they would be at if they sold at the same price everywhere

so you can look at it this way, when you buy a japanese car in america, a lot of the cost that you should have paid is being paid by a nice fellow in japan

and for the guys that are talking about pearl harbor.....you are ridiculous....it nowhere near compares to what happened in hiroshima
