I don't think you can look at total milage untill empty at fill up since it is base on previous mpg and such so when you filled it with 89 it showed what you got with 87 and so on.
That makes sense, and you can't really count on the computer anyway. I have to calculate my mileage the old fashioned way. I swear I'd be getting 30MPG driving down the highway after a reset. The second I stop at a light or a stop sign, it dips WAY low.
How did you get the message console?
What do you mean? Like the message that says "### miles until empty" ? Just keep cycling through info; it will show you a dinky graph of your fuel efficiency, your average MPG and MPH, and other stuff.
that's just it, i don't have the message console at all. is it part of the interior upgrade package?

Thatstang: I find 30 mpg on a Mustang near impossible to believe. Are you doing your calculation the real way with basic math, or are you relying on the computer of the car?
When cruising on freeway, I reset the mpg on consol and it displays various mpg in real time like 70-99 when going down the hill in 5th or 13mpg when climbing San Francisco hills which I do a lot of on the way to work. Driving down flat stretch of freeway for 20 miles at 70 MPH and reseting mpg I get consistent 30mpg if I stay at 70 and decreases to 29 at 75 and so on with 91tune.

By the way, after work I filled up with 91 and reprogrammed back to 91. Also based on previous posts it seems the difference between 87 and 93 tune is 8hp and 8 tq so if I run calculations its probably 2.5hp/tq difference between 89 and 91 so I am sticking with 91 for now :-)

Wow you get 30mpg? I havent seen more then 25 maybe even 26 at most with no heavy acceleration or anything just plain driving. Thats amazing if you ask me since isnt the mustang only rated at 19-25mpg for an auto and 19-28 for a manual.
