Ya if it was a speed6 u never had a chance but i thought we could take just a mazda6... Havent raced one so i dont really know but acouple of people tried to get me to race one because they said it wasnt as fast but im not big on street racing so i didnt.

And also blackfoot how close were you actually to the wrx? Because if i recall depending on the trim an impreza wrx is turbo charged at 230-300hp. I dont know if you guys had a full on race or not but if it was a straight race i woulda bet on the wrx.

Mag racing sucks, but it gives an ok comparision especially when it's the same mag. C&D tested both cars-

Mustang v6 <manual>-6.3 14.8

Mazda 6S <5-sp manual>- 6.4 15.1

Mustang v6 <5sp-auto> 6.9 15.3

I couldn't find a test for the auto Mazda 6S, but they run mid-high 15's in 5-sp auto/slapstick from what i've seen at the track, which is an awful sample size but it sounds about where it should be.

STI'S have 300hp, reg WRX's have 230. STi's will go low 13's stock, while WRX's are anywhere from low-mid 14's in manual to high 14-low 15's in auto. Depends on the year, WRX's went from a 2.0 to 2.5 in 06.

But like most turbo cars, they can get big gains from minimal mods.

Well 1st of all i said depending on what trim it was because an STI is a wrx so thats why i put anywhere from 230hp turbo (wrx) to the 300hp (wrx sti) and he also said a '06. For fun i looked up the hp of the car so i came to that conclusion depending on trim.

yeah if you ask me you just got beat by a ford car. Thats the way i look at it.

Indeed, in fact, I thought the Mazda6 came off the same assembly line as the S197. I'm pretty sure I read about that.

my friend has a mazda 6 auto with the sport package. I can can beat him...not by a lot but hes never won. At the time all I had was a GT takeoff. I think it wa a Mazda speed.

that site tends to be more accurate than C&D even though they sometimes quote C&D times. They tend to look at many sources before posting a time.
