Engine Swaps??

RE: Engine Swaps??
if you must have a V-8 then sell it and buy one, if you want to swap you will need, motor, motor mounts, ECU, accessories, tranny, tranny mounts/member, driveshaft, 8.8" rear and new suspention unless you have the pony package
a procharger on an old single port SN-95 will put down 272 RWHP, thats a gain of 150ish rwhp, so your looking at over 300 rwhp

RE: Engine Swaps??
dont need new engine mounts, they stay the same. but all the little stuff like wires, sensors, radiator hoses, egr hoses, egr valves, etc etc, its just insane how much it will cost.
and the PH turbo doesnt come with its own exhaust, just to the midpipes.

RE: Engine Swaps??
Engine swap would be ALOT of work because you have to redo the suspension, the tranny and (drivetrain too I think) and then the engine itself WILL cost a pretty penny or two. Also the amount of labor going into it will be crazy. You will also most likly run into problems during the process and if you were to pay someone to do it, that would be even more money. It would all-in-all be cheaper to trade the car. that's just me because I was thinking about doing that too. I just decided I was going to mod the freakin' crap out of my sick and go all out and see how fast I can get it. Kind of like a project car. Enjoy man!

RE: Engine Swaps??
I had the same problem as you wanted more power and I wanted the name....
1. If you do spend all the money on swapping the motor = more money and no warrenty(whats a warrenty I know)
2. If you put a supercharger/turbo it will probably be faster then a gt if still stock.
3. If you trade your car in for the 0 percent faster car stock vs. stock= warrenty(until you mod) and you have no down time. instant gradification.
v6 mustang or any any mustang is an awesome car. If power is what you want you might as well get a GT and not waste money with the motor swap. OR go F/I and be done w/it.
I was the proud owner of a v6 pony package and while it was a great car it does nothing for me like the GT I own now(and the mod bug hit me a little harder).
Good luck w/your decision.
