Default Low fuel warning

So im driving home from work, then all of a sudden my fuel light comes on, and my fuel gauge is falling from 1/2 to E .... I had 1/2 tank when I was leaving the parking lot then it started to go down like I had a major leak... I dont have any leaks at all... I drove my car to the nearest gas station which was down the road, then I checked for leaks.. plus I filled up my tank to full... and there it still was, my low fuel warning light... I had the same thing happend to my Ford Focus in 2001, I traded that car in before i even knew what was wrong, got a sweet deal on a sporty looking Mazda Protege.. but anyways im not too worried about it because my car still runs normally... no fuel cut off or engine stalls... I know this is could be only me.. does anybody know what has happend? do our mustangs have a float inside the gas tank? I will bring it in to the dealer next week.. dont have time this week.. mucho mahalo

I figure they would have some kind of way of measuring the fuel, I would get that fixed.....that would annoy the sh*t out of me.

that happened to me once, about 1 month ago. Did it three times in about a mile. So i stopped on the side of road, turned off the car, started it again. Hasn't happened since. I figure oif it happens again I'll head back.

At work we have a chevy pickup that does the same thing non stop. (You have to shake the car to get it to read the fuel). Its really annoying.
