Got it!!!

Wow do I appreciate!!!!

Just talked to the better half, it's gonna be a V6 in either Vista Blue or Grabber orange!!
I should have my ride by middle of Oct and will post pics when I do!!!!!!

Like I said, buy American.
They are not perfect cars, but if you filter out the import BS they are just as good if not better and at least you
can get info on repairs and parts etc..

id never buy an import.

i fix cars for a living, id much rather work on an easy car 3x as much (even though its not that much more) as a pain in the *** car.

I know 3 people who had to replace their whole engine in those cars all under 40k miles.
2 Jetta s and an A4, the A4 motor cost $9000! and it was a lease and the bastards wouldn't honor the warranty.

So because you had one trouble moment with a Jetta....

Big whoop. I know people that have Diesel Jetta's with hundreds of thousands of miles on them. Still run like a champ. Still 50mpg.

We all have stories of "Oh but I know such and such" to back up our claims for either side of the fence. So that's no way to show either side of the arguement. I look at it this way. Americans don't support America, they support cheapest... which ever it may be. And American ain't cheapest.

Some times Capitalism backfires.

Imports are made by more skilled workers? Maybe the Euro imports but NOT the Jap/Korean!

Pretty much true, price drives the sale but some of these ricers are way overpriced IMHO.
FWIW this Jetta has been absolutely trouble free since the day we got it, 64k miles ago.
It's really a very nice car and well built, but the water pump is a weak point and like all timing belt FWD cars
the belt has to be changed and from my experience it's a PITA to do on most of them.

If nothing else the Japanese are definetly more dedicated workers then Americans. Japanese take pride in their company and their work, because thats what their culture demands, Americans take pride in their paycheck and what their union can get for them, because that's what our culture expexts.

I wish more people would buy American cars also, but foreign workers are definetly more dedicated to their work on the whole <I won't say more skilled, because i don't think they are.>

this married couple i know out in texas wanted a jetta really badly after they got married, i think it was 2002 or 2003 they got. they ultimately got rid of it because it spent so much time in the shop. they got a toyota matrix and have been happy with that ever since.

if i ever go japanese again, i'll be getting either a nissan, a scion, or a mazda.
