I used to to get spanked by those Lancer Evolution things before my mods, I had one try to race me today, but with my record one more ticket and no more driving for a while..Im just wondering what my chances would be now though, there rated at 286 HP and TRQ....
Chances for us are slim and none...however, you can always put a few buslenghts on one of those lame Lancer OZ Rally models and pretend it's a Lancer Evo. I'm sure we'd beat the Lancer Ralliart as well...but the Lancer EVO is GT competition. You maybe hit mid 14's w/ mods, they hit mid 14's stock with the worst driver ever behind the wheel.

Mustang GT > Evo's > 4.0L Mustangs

However, 4.0L (with a power adder added) > Evo's

With the number of FI'd 4.0L increasing each week it seems, I think our big-6's will be teaching some imports a lesson about respect for the 4.0L. (can you tell I'm married to a teacher???)

from a dig evo>mustang gt> 4.0 mustang. evos can run high 12's stock with a good launch on stock rubber. that's not gonna happen on a gt.

Well with AWD your looking at more of a drivetrain loss from what I've been told. Those evo's & sti's are about 300 at the motor but 260ish meybe at the floor (stock). I though they were lighter cars than us too? You sure on the weight? Don't we weigh in at about 3400? Basically those cars kick azz because of the awd. Those suckers will grip!! I have a little lower hp and about the same tq at the floor as evo's do the motor (according to meph, if those are motor #'s), but that awd will just simply grab the road and go!

Well after seeing the Turbonetics Lancer Evo at English Town NJ run in the 8's and 9's....there is no way. This thing was amazing. Blew everyones minds. Huge turbo with nitrous and the works. All the other cars are sitting there doing their cool burnouts while the lancer just rolls up to the line all cool and purges the nitrous. Thats when you know your done for. On open night my friend with his stock Hemi Ram ran a 16.2 to the Lancers 8.5 or something. One of the funniest things i ever saw at the track and we have it in on tape. The Lancer driver was getting his ticket while my buddy was still doing his run...The lancer was in 3rd gear b4 the truck came out of first. I dont even think the driver was pushing it to its limits either. He would dump it b4 the finish and was easy on revving during launch. Amazing car that i would love to own.

My bad. I checked the following link to get the "published" numbers for the two cars:

http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html

2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII 5.1 13.5
2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII 4.8 13.4
2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX MR 4.5 13.3 (MT Dec '05)

VERSUS

2005 Ford Mustang GT 4.6L V8 5.1 13.5 (MT Jan 05)

I forgot about the redesigned IX & MR's, which definitely stepped things up a bit. But the times are close, and they are still fair game for a competent GT driver. Also to consider is that the MSRP of the IX is $32K, and it's nearly $37K for the MR. One thing's for sure - I would rather spend my money on a Ford Mustang GT than a Mitsu...[sm=americanasmiley.gif]

Oh easily. For the money you can get a GT with turbo and still have a couple bucks to spare.

Though comparing "stock to stock" when one car comes stock with a turbo isn't exactly fair.
