LIMITERS R GAY AND USELESS because they vary a lot, like the gt get to 149 limited why????

RE: without limiter
Fazm's car is modified, but I have exceeded the 120 MPH speedometers limit running 87 octane fuel with an 87 octane tune from VMP. When we put my spouses couple on the dyno it achieved 141 MPH on the stock tune with the limiter removed and shift points setup for the dyno. The engine turning 6000 RPM in top gear with the 3.31 rear end. This, of course, is with no wind resistance though.
Keep in mind that the OEM driveshaft has issues over about 115. It looks like this may have been corrected about half way through the 2006 model year, so verify your driveshaft before trying any high speed runs. I stopped testing my car once I learned this and will not resume until I can replace the stock shaft.

RE: without limiter
Ya they all have a point...#1 it would be nice to occasionally have a test run on a closed contained course to see how fast the car really goes. #2 but since its unsafe until you upgrade driveshaft, tires, and even knowing if you can control the car at those speeds. Limits are there for a reason, to make the vehicle alittle more safe for the people who drive there cars irresponsibly.

RE: without limiter
this may seem like a dumb question but i am a rookie..how do u get rid of the limiter? i was pissed when i was racing an older mustang and i had him until my car just stopped at 115mph LOL

RE: without limiter
v6V, you don't say what year your car is, but be aware there is an issue with at least the 05 through mid 06 V6 Mustang drive shaft which can cause catastrophic failure over about 115 MPH. If your car falls into this group be very careful when running it hard. Best to replace the drive shaft with a good aftermarket unit or at least install driveshaft loops before doing any really high speed testing.
