Default How do you disable the passenger side air bag?

I see a light on the dash for the indication that the air bag is disabled but how do you disable it?

I don't think you can unless you take out a fuse. Why do you want to disable it.

current generation air bags are only activated if a passenger iis in the seat , then the weight of the passanger determines the fireing force if they are activated. DONT mess with them think of the liability if some one was hurt because you messed with them

This is a good thread. I was going to pose the question about turning them on/off.

My son goes everywhere with me and I keep seeing a light that says the passenger side is not on(something like that)

Is there a button to turn these on or is this probably a factory error or something

Check under the passenger seat to see if the wire harness is connected tight.
The sensor is in the seat and runs to a harness underneath. If its tight and your light doesn't
come on even when no one is sitting in it, I'd have it look at by the dealer.
