But ya everyone is right the auto's are pretty close stock for stock manuals are a llittle more tricky pry just depends on mods and the drivers. Should be able to get it so go get yourself a kill if ya like....That is if its in a safe environment

any out here put your 4.0 vs a 01 eclipse, a guy at work has nothing but talk for his 2001 eclipse, its a 2.4l automatic, rated at 147hp, 158 tq, any thoughts on the outcome of a race....my stang is an 06, 4.0, 5spd
The Eclipses' of that gen that're our comp are the GT and GT-S. Both of those models use a v6, the GT of that gen rated at 200 and the GT-S at 210, the GT-S also has AWD so it launches well. As long as they are manual they are on par, the Eclipse autos pretty much suck. The GT for example is a low 15 car in manual but low 16 in auto. The model you're talking about would be either a RS or GS depending on the options, is a fwd i-4, and in auto is a 17 sec car easy.

IOW, you'd rape him 10 ways to Sunday. Really that cars not even worth the gas IMO, it's like racing a non-Si Civic, EX or whatever.

Now then, the new Eclipse GT will hand us our ***.
nono....only awd eclipses were dsm's. really the dsm gs-t's and gsx's were the only eclipse competition for us until the new gt came out. some other could win if the mustang had a bad driver, but they were not as fast.
