There is an aux outlet in the center console. All you need is a cable with two male ends. Anything you can plug headphones into can be connected this way...including portable DVD players.

It's called the Belkin Mini-Stereo Extension Cable Male/Male (6 ft.) and it has two male ends.

No, only the 2007 models have the option for the auxiliary in the glove box.

To be able to use your ipod, you need the auxiliary input adapter that has been posted above. You then have to remove the radio, using a 7mm socket wrench and a phillips head screwdriver. It takes me about 30 minutes to remove my radio, because I have done it mulitiple times. I wired the power of the auxiliary input adapter through a fuse to the ciggarette lighter power on the back.

To remove the radio:
Here is a great link that will walk you through removing the radio.

He didn't specify what year he had.. and since he is relatively "new", I assumed he and a recent model. The aux input is in the arm rest.. not the glove box, btw.

lol, thats what I meant, I should have said "center console". I only knew he didn't have a 07 because I looked at his sig.

Now you got me wondering. I didn't do the install myself, but the installer told me that there was no gain control. I wonder if he missed it. I might be worthwhile for me to use the instructions that you guys posted and go in and have a look for myself.

On the auxiliary input adapter from discountcarstereo.com , I am pretty sure that there is gain control on it. Because I remember reading the instrucions (for once) and you had to use a screw driver to turn the **** down on the unit when first using it. Then you could adjust the **** upward to get the sound level at the right volume.

Thanks for the info. I guess Ill have to get in there and check. I hope that my device is similar to yours. Tearing into the console looks easy enough, I'm just a little nervous because I haven't done it on this car before. I HATE SURPRISES

JC, I've heard this isn't the case with the Shaker systems, but would be very interested in what you find when you pull the unit. Would you please photo document the operation? It would, undoubtedly, be very helpful to anyone on the forum thinking about either adding a Sirius, XM radio or iPod connection to their system.
Pyrat -- it wasn't as easy as Best Buy and Sirius suggested. Like someone else mentioned, there is no RCA plug on the back, it is a series of din plugs, all filled, so you have to get a different piece to go in one of the plugs in a series. I went with the Sirius FM adapter that plugs in between the radio antenna and the back of the radio (for $30 as opposed to the adapter like others have used for the AUX input at around $100). Sounds much better than the wireless FM, but we'll see how it is on my commute into to Detroit in the morning. If it still doesn't sound good on that drive, then I'll probably be going with the FRD04 adapter like Rrruss.
