Default Wheel locking kit

Ok, I just need a bit of info here. I got my stang used and it has the wheel locking kit on it. I never worried about it but now im finally gettin some new rims. I dont seem to have the tool needed to get them off. Can someone explain to me how they work and what the tool looks like to get them off. Thanks.

If it is the Ford wheel locking kit, you should be able to go to the dealer and get a new socket key. They may also have a master key that can remove them.

For your sake I hope they are stock wheel locking kits. If they aren't, you gotta talk tot he guy you bought the car from ASAP. I know that a bunch of people keep a socket for the kit with their spare tire. Check there.

You may not be able to get it. Theres a special code that goes with it. You should somewhat be happy about that because then someone could say hey lemme get the for wheel lock remover and just steel a bunch of wheels!

you can get a new one from ford if it is from them. They just bring out like 20 different ones and see which fits. If not tire shops break them off. The one here near me does it for 10 bucks on each lock and if they brake something on your car they pay to replace it.

I had a similar problem, my Gt was deliverred without the locking device. Wasn't as simple for me to go to the Ford dealer as I am in the UK. I did not have a code, I tried a few locking nut removers without success, so barring the last resort of welding another nut to the locking nut, I manged to get them off with a socket that has a type of reverse thread on maybe snap-on make these sockets ?. The nuts were on tight but in the end got them off. The nuts had to be replaced but at least if I get a flat or puncture I can now get the wheels off.

A previously advised go to the ford dealer first or if that fails a very trust worthy reliable mechanic

Good luck
