Default $2,200 in Damage only 4023 miles on her...

I just got the call from the repair shop and my rear passanger side Axle, Rim, Caliper, rotor and tire need to be replaced... after parts and labor the price is $2,200... I just got my plates put on the other day...that's how new the car is...All that from loosing control and sliding into a curb at 25 mph... Waaaaaaaa!!!

I really want to go to one of those driving schools that teaches you how to drive fast and recover from spins and all that...anyone know of a place like that...I can't afford Bondurant...so that's out...anywhere else??? Or should I just find a parking lot somewhere and test the limits myself??? I really don't want this to happen again and it's kind of embarrasing I can't even control a V6!!! I just really don't know what the hell happened...it's not like I just got my licence...I'm 27!!!!

Sorry to hear about that. I don't think
I would "test the limits" in a parking lot, you
just might end up $2,200 deeper in the hole!
I don't know any driving schools.

Also, don't underestimate the power of the V6!

LOL! yeah I know it's powerful but I don't want to drive it now out of fear I might mess it up again! I hate that!! I love pushing the limits as long as I know what they are!

can happen to the best of us. When in doubt.. go slow. Better to look like a grandma.. then to hit the curb.

You will get used to it. I actually do recommend finding a nice safe spot to practice. That's what I did. I have driven small 4cyl trucks most of my life.. so I am really used to by back end wanting to swing out. Once you get used to it.. it's just second nature to correct.

As soon as I get her back I'm going to do some research and try to spot a location to practice... or at least get a more accurate perspective on what the car can and can't do when it comes to handling.... LOL!!!! after thinking about it and reliving it you kinda have to laugh!!! It's either laugh or dwell on it..and no one likes the second option...

Check around your area for a sports car club that offers drivers training. That's what I did up here in Oregon. Over in Portland, Cascade Sports Car Club offers a two day high speed class with an instructor for $159! I've gone a couple of times it's so much fun. There's got to be a similar situation near you. Any track has clubs that offer this type of thing. In northern California there's Thunderhill by Sacramento. I'm going down there next April for a two day event. Good luck! I hope you can find some On-track time.

DAMN IT! I hate not having my Stang man!!! It sucks! I have to bumb rides and sit in the back seat ! They said Monday or Tuesday!!! Why is it that I can go and get a new tranny installed in 2 days yet it takes a freakin week for a new Axle??? I think they lag so they can get more money from the Insurance Co. Either way this blows....[sm=rant.gif]
