It's not really a big deal, but it does make you wonder sometimes.
tacatc, I noticed the same thing whenever I install a tune at the pump. If I load the tune before the gauge has reached the full marker, it just kind of sits wherever it was when the tuner was plugged in. After a little while, it does go back to full.
