Default event data logging?

Our cars are equipped with an event data logging feature that logs information for insurance/police when you get in a wreck they can access it and tell how fast you were going, how hard the accelarator was pressed, how far the wheel was turned, etc.

How do we disable it...

Is it possible that the technician can corrupt it so it does not work correctly?

Interesting. Event data logging in my 07 Mustang Pony.
That should come in handy if/when I have an accident since I don't cause them ;-).

I'd say if you're trying to disable it, you shouldn't be driving a car, PERIOD!

Like I said 'explitive' whipe, you shouldnt' be driving if you intend to keep from being sued because you caused an accident!
That's the only reason one would try to disable such a feature.
Slow down and drive like a civil person who isn't worried about getting SUED!
I'd watch the language on there too pal.
But you can suck out my 'explitive' anytime.

No technician will disable it for you.. its things like that , that would get them fired... by 2010 ALL cars will come with this "blackbox"... so there is no way to avoid it. It will be a federal regulation, just like how its a federal regulation today on our emission systems..

I would like mine taken out also! Not out of fear of being sued OR because I cause accidents...but because I want to live free...without someone snapping my picture if I run a FU%$%G red light, without everything I do being recorded by some lame "BlackBox" in my car... This is a bunch of BS!

I'm sure this is possible to take out... If you can put it in you can take it out... not sure what damage it would cause though...this is the first I've heard of this... kinda makes you feel like you're being watched!!
