Default AC/Heater problem

I have a 2005 4.0. I have taken it in for ac/heater work 3 times so far. The problem is that there is a long delay (from 1 to 5 minutes +) when you change from one setting to another. It also has a long delay when you change from heat to cool. If you turn the engine off and restart the car it will change over. They have replaced the head unit and 2 differant damper motors under the dash. The problem is still not fixed. Has anyone else had this problem?

We have had this car in the shop a total of 5 times so far. Its seems like its just one problem after another.

I noticed this summer that there were times that the air conditioner seemed to just quit for 4 or 5 minutes and then it would start cooling again.

I;ve had my 2006 for a year.

First time yesterday the heater controls stopped working. Pulled over, turned off the engine and restarted the car. Everything returned to normal. very weird.

After 7 trips to the dealer and 1 rental car later they finally fixed the problem. It ended up being a bad defroster damper motor (not sure what it was really called). Which they said they replaced the 2nd time I took it in. It has been fixed for about 2 weeks now. Keeping my fingers crossed nothing else goes wrong.

Does your defrost blow more than expected when you have the heat set to the feet position?

That's the same question I have had. I took mine in to be checked, but it wasn't to my regular dealer and I don't have any confidence that theservice guyreally knew what he was doing (he said "yeah I just talked to the tech and he said your car heats up fine" to which I replied, "well that's good to hear but that isn't why I brought it in" and his only response was, "oh, um, well, uh whatever you brought it in for was fine" -- after telling me he just finished talking with the tech).

Sorry for the late reply. I just saw this post.

Yes it does see to blow more up top. It also seems to have some air blowing up top when at any setting. But at least it works right now.
