Well, before I even think about taking him on, I wanted to ask. He wants to put money on it...I said let me sleep on it. If there was nothing riding on this, then I'd have no problem racing him. Hopefully I can convince him to a friendly race and bragging rights alone. I'm sure he'll have me, but I'd like to see how close it will be.

its to hard to tell, if you had gears/lsd you would have him, tell him to wait a week and get some 4.10s and lsd put in

Rygen, that's pretty much what I was thinking, but I thought I'd ask anywho...
I'm going to be smart and say no to a race for money, but for bragging rights instead...if this every happens, I'll let you know how it goes....

Well, I can be honest and say that I am fairly unexperienced at racing, but he agreed to race tonight. We went to a very straight, uninhabited, rarely travelled road a few towns over. It was fun.
We went from a dead stop, a true "back in the day" drag race. Never drag raced before, all my "racing" (all 4 times) have been on the highway. This was COOL. I had a really good launch and pulled away pretty quickly (I would imagine an LSD and gears would've made it even better). I hit 3rd gear at 60mph, and at just a hair over 65 he started to pull away. Once I hit 80, he had a good distance on me, and I gave up after that because I could tell that there was no way for me to catch up to him from there.
It was a nice and clean race. We both had fun, and HE took me out for a beer afterward. Moral of the story: a better driver may make it closer, gears and LSD would help some, and even though I beat him off the line, I must say, those things are fast.
