it adds horsepower via adding more air into your air/fuel mixture which causes the injectors to shoot in more fuel to adjust to the increase in air intake, causing a bigger bang causing more horsepower. for this product, i'm guessing that you most likely need a tune. Also, pricing wise, look all around the web and find the cheapest price. then go to autopartswarehouse.com and call them. tell them the lowest price you found and ask them if they can beat it, which they will because it says on the website, i just did this the other day.

No tune is needed, as the sizw of the intake remains the same diameter.
Look for about $200.
