Grinding noise....HELP!
I live in Calgary, its been faily warm out the last month or so, the last couple days the temperature has probably dropped 20 degrees and we got some snow overnight last night....so this morning I pull into the parking garage at work and I hear this grinding noise, sounds like metal on metal and gets worse when I turned the wheels....I have no idea what this could have been, the car is 4 months old and has 5000 kms and have had no problems....I mean this noise was brutal way worse than breaks squeeling when they're wet....do the ball joints for the wheels get a bit of rust at times that takes a few turns to wear off? I didn't want to drive it home but when I started it up the noise went away after driving 20 ft....should I take it in to the dealer? Its such a pain not to have the car for the day....
The same happened to me last year. I live near Montreal and they put gravel on the road and a rock was lodge between the rotor and the protecting plate behind the rotor. The noise was killing me and it was worse at low speed and turning.
This exact thing happened to me just a couple of days ago.
But last year I had a rock get lodged in my brake rotor, but this
recent time didn't sound the same, it scared the **** outta me, it sounded
awfull! I mean it was a nasty sound. I turned around to come home and then it
stopped........I do live down a dirt road and the night before the road was muddy
do ya'll think that had to do with it?
