Need help with tuner
I just bought a Granatelli Fuego tuner and the instuctions are not very good. Can someone please tell me where it plugs in. I looked by the ECU, in the engine compartment, and did'nt see any place where the Fuego would hook up. Some info and/or pictures would really help.

Sit in your car (on the driver side of course). Now look down by your left knee. The port is under the dash pointing down toward your knee.

Your LEFT knee? You meant your RIGHT, mate. The port for plugging in any sort of diagnostic tool (and of course, the Fuego Tuner) is the Onboard Diagnostic II port, a.k.a., the ODBII port. It is located under the steering wheel to the right of your RIGHT knee. It's a bit hidden in there, but it's attached to the electrical wiring for your center dash. Think of where your cigarrete lighter is, under your stereo. It's right next to that module. Let me know if you're still having trouble.

Well, you got me! I didn't know they'd relocated the ODBII port on the v6 2005 models. Strange...And as for the Fuego, it works with any 1996+ mustang, even the Shelby 500. Other cars too. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...446&rd=1,1
I have a 1996 GT, and for me, not all of the options were enabled. For example, the Fuego doesn't have the option to change the rack and pinion ratio on the computer, nor change the MAF variables. I over came this last one by changing the air/fuel ratio by 2%. We'll see how that works out. But the firming up of the transmission is good stuff, just as changing the shift points.
Cheers,

Thanks everyone for the help. It was under the dash just to the left of the steering wheel. Sorry I didn't mention what type of car I have. Its a 2006 mustang v6 w/pony package with many upgrades. ( I will post pics as soon as I can find my camara. ) I am just starting to add performance upgrades, all the rest have been appearance upgrades.
The Fuego does work on our cars but it is a little tricky. i spent 4 hours playing with this yesterday. If you just enter in 2005-2006 mustang, in wont work. I tried 2007 manual and it worked fine.I went back in forth 6 times from stock to custom tune to make sure it was working right. It is working fine, but I wish I would have got an SCT xcal II.
If anyone else has an Fuego, or any other tuner,do you have any special tunes? I want to know what to do with the fuel and spark parameters. This is way over my head.[sm=smiley21.gif]Thanks for the info.

If you don't know about spark and fuel, i.e., timing, then you definitely shouldn't touch those. I highly suggest touching these after you dyno your car. If you just start changing the spark timing or spark/fuel ratio, you very likely will have some serious detonation/pinging problems. I wouldn't touch that.
I believe the fuego tuner is made my granatelli. It is relatively new.

Sorry but in an S197 the ODBII port is LEFT of the steering wheel and is above your LEFT knee.. Now.... the original poster did not specify what kind of Mustang he had... but since he posted it under 2005+ 4.0L, we have to assume he's talking about an S197 V6... but I have never heard of a Fuego tuner for our cars... ???
