Default New brakes....

I was never impressed with the stock brakes on the Mistress... soooooo... I decided to try some new rotors and pads....

Slotted rotors with black zinc plating!! Wow... braking has greatly improved! For a full review and more pics: http://www.v6john.com/Main/Performan...me_a_brake.htm

Well.. in theory the "Slots machined into the rotor “wipes†brake pads clean, evacuates gases, and sheds heat" I believe the first 2 items... not so sure about the heat though... LOL Oh.. and they look cool! LOL!

That makes sense. I guess the improved heat removal would be due to the increased surface are created by the slots, wouldn't be much though.

gasses build in between the pads and the rotor during heavy breaking,,,,the gasses have nowhere to go sandwiched between the rotor and pad, thus reducing the braking force (fading) he slots allow for gases to scape giving a firmer grip ......

Surface doesn't seem different from stock, so I would say the new pads are also making a difference....

Yeah, the new semi-metallic pads definitely have a more grab than the stock pads!

Now that the rotor surface is really clean and shiny, the black slots really stand out! Guess I need to get some a few new pics! LOL!
