I got an interesting e-mail from Ford today. It was a survey regarding what you might want in a new mustang.

Two new engines were presented: a 3.7 liter v-6 with 280 HP and a v-6 3.5L twin turbo with 380 HP. They said engine 1 would add 1000 to the cost and the twin turbo would add 2000 to the price. The engines could come from Land Rover, Volvo, Jaguar, or Mazda. Ford is thinking of adding a retractable hard top for the convertible.

The survey bascially asked how much you would be willing to pay for certain future options and to explain why, etc. This was how Ford's CEO operated when he was at Boeing. He went right to the customers and conducted extensive surveys as to what they wanted and how much they were willing to pay.

I think I got this survey because I signed up with Ford on their web site after I bought my 06 stang. Both engine options seem pretty exciting. Imagine a hard top convertible with a twin turbo!!!!

 

Ok, so I assume they plan to beef up the v8 consiterably if they go with the 280 hp v6. I would also assume that they would add a twin turbo to the v8 if they decided to go with the twin turbo set up. Either way, I would be excited about a hard top vert.

 

I would definitely pay 2K for another 170 Horsepower coming out of the factory!

 

now that's what i'm talkin about....twin turbo v6 380hp. Can't wait to see how far the muscle struggle will go between chevy and ford. Hopefully Ford comes out on top. I just took a ride a few days ago in a 2007 z06 though....Ford is gonna have to do something SERIOUSLY extreme to top that car. Hopefully they blow the camaro out of the water too

EDIT-also, if its a twin turbo the whole internal setup will no doubt be forged. It will be like an 03 v6 cobra of sorts....if ya get my drift
