Default the power of the v6 suprised me...

I have been in the market for a 05+ mustang for a while and I finally bought my 2006 GT last night. While I was test driving cars I decided to try out the 4.0L. All I gotta say is I was blown away.[sm=yikesomg.gif] It did not feal like 210hp at all and it did not feal like a v6. IMO It had the type of response that a v8 would have. There were some mods on it like full cat back duel exaust but nothing to major. When I was done test driving the car I actually opened the hood and checked for some major mods but did not find any. I swear when I dropped the clutch it got to 60 faster than most of the cars I have owned.

Anyone else get suprised by the power driving the 4.0L for the first time?

yeah, when i test drove the v6 i later ended up buying, i was impressed by how it accelerated. i'd had a hot little 280zx and two Camaros as far as "sporty cars" went before the Stang, and the test drive is what had me sold on it.

I had a 71 Roadrunner new that turned 14.9 bone stock and my 05 V-6 feels just as fast!

Yup I was definately surprised... I originally was going for a GT but was set off by the price and insurance increases since I was under 25 still. I test drove the v6 with the sales lady (oooh a laddyyy) and WOW it just hauled ***. My heart still flutters at the sound it makes on a hard acceleration :P

A nice little intake and exhaust just make it into a monstrous sound. My friends that were in the car when I gave them a "test run" didn't even speak for a good while after I stuck my foot in it. It's awesome

Thats a really cool write up, thanks for doing it. These cars even in stock form are very respectable.

Yeah i purchased mine for the same reason, it was fast ,sounded good, price tag didnt make my wallet want to jump off a bridge, and likewise for the insurance.

Oh, no problem. The 4.0 deserves more respect than any other v6 mustang in history IMO. It was right up there and maybe faster (this v6 I drove did have some mods) with my Cobalt SS/SC and SRT4. Hell for insurance reasons I may pick up a v6 in the future and throw on a SC
