New Toys for the chase to 14.0's
Hey Everyone, I know I havent posted for a couple of weeks but wanted to give an update to those on the chase to 14.0's on bolt-on's...............
I have just picked up the following.........
3.73's rear end gears
7.5 trak lok
rear end gear install kit
BMR LCA's
I also am changing out the GT Takeoff's and doing a couple of other bolton's that have not been firmed up yet.
I have not been to the track yet this year because of work. I am constantly out of state, but should be able to get some shakedown passes when I get back in the month.

I thought that with a CAI and tune you could get into the 14s easy. I don't know it that's true.. but that's what i've heard.

The 6 or 7 of us in the chase have gone anywhere from 14.3's to 14.6's

When I ran at CCD before adding the x-pipe, GT mid-pipe, and add'l GT take-off muffler, my better time of the two was 14.701 @ 95.7mph. This past weekend at Norwalk (after changing my exhaust set-up), my best time was 14.994 @ 93.71mph. Traction was an issue at Norwalk for me, and everyone seemed to run slower. But my speed was consistently lower at Norwalk after the new exhaust.
EDIT: I now know that my lower speed through the traps @ Norwalk was the result of track conditions and the driver, so adding duals should not have a negative effect on your ET's or speed.

28hopup-from what I hear the humidity was really bad there, that would of cost you a few tenths right there. Having 2 mufflers is a weight penality too. I would say it's the weather, not the car.
merlinstream-the closest time to 14.0 is now 14.13. You better hurry!

Hold off a week or so before adding the second GT take-off muffler. Perhaps it was due to less back-pressure? The only way for me to know for sure is to duplicate the conditions at CCD and run there again to see if those times/speeds are affected.
I will certainly post my results...

Not usre why you ran so much slower. Weather, traction, + / - weight? also did you run the 14.7 time with the new gears?

Boss ran a 14.3 and a 14.1, he is the N/A king now and probably forever. There are afew coming up but he has the crown. You should really be setting you goals a sub 13's in an N/A car. Good lukc and pratice you launches.
Norwalk was slightly Horrible, I was down 3mph and .3 in the 1/4. Not my best day.
