How does everyone feel with.....
Why do some people feel a Mustang isn't real unless it is a V8? I was talking to a guy yesterday and his attitude was like, "well, it's just a V6." I quickly came back and said, "Ya know, I understand it's just a V6 but this V6 has more horsepower than my '82 GT had!"
Then went on to tell him that Car & Driver Magazine namedthe 2007 V6 Mustangas the fastest car for under $20K.
We drive MUSTANGS not RICERS!

I figured the buzziness was because I'm hearing 2 3-cyl engines. So.. I don't know whether to get an H pipe, or just buy 2 mufflers, or both. Any ideas?

To the OP, I have all Ford GT parts for the duals on my coupe - Ford x-pipe, GT mid-pipe and hangers, and GT take-off mufflers. Absolutely love it! There's no drone, and the sound comes alive under accelleration. I like the look of duals on our cars, especially with a notched stock bumper (makes the rear-end look lighter than the GT bumper IMO). Conversely, I just have a single GT take-off nuffler on our vert, and Mrs28HopUp loves the sound. It's all a matter of what makes you happy.
I was considering doing an X pipe when I go duals. But I think I'd like to see what it sounds like with just straight pipes first. It sounds great with the one so we'll see when the time comes
But in the morning, my car sounds more mean and rumbly thanwhen it's warmed up

DON'T DO IT, SALLY!!!! Trust me. Re-read my previous post.. and if you still wantdual straight pipes, then print my post, and re-read it before you go to bed, when you wake up, during leisure time, and when you're in the bathroom.. etc.. Trust me, your car will sound embarrassing!!
I decided to get this fixed as soon as possible. I'm not totally sure on what muffler to get.. Magnaflows, Flowmasters, or others. So,settled on acouple Thrush Turbos, sincetheywere only $20 each at the Autozone, to cure the problem now.If anybody here has actually opened up a muffler, most ofthe "turbo" mufflers like Magnaflow, Dynomax and Thrush, (and GT-takeoffs, for that matter) are essentially the same inside.
I had the Thrush mufflers installed today, and it quieted down my Cessna Mustang PiperCub crop duster John Deere tractor sound. It now sounds like I have GT takeoffs. Quiet during a simple cruise, but a nice rumble under acceleration. It's not as aggressive sounding as I prefer, but it's definitely a nice sound. Sounds like a V6 again and not like a Geo Metrodemolition derby.
Is anyone else running true duals without a crosspipe?
On a side note, I'm sure the muscle car era guys here would appreciate to know that the Thrush's still come with the Woody Woodpecker stickers.
Yeh...I hate the comments people make about it being a v6.....it always gets put in comparison to the gt, rather than other cars....It is just as fast as the GTI, and faster with a simple CAI/Tune and Exhaust. Yet, the gti gets praised as this sick car, and its nothing special...
I did get annoyed when I saw this 60 year old woman driving a mustang the other day (v6)....I tried to tell myself, shes just not normal, its not a girls car (also another annoying stereotype), its not a grandparent car....

you know im reading all of these posts and i have a few things to add...one someone said thier mod guy said it will never sound like a mustang bec its a v6??? last time i checked my ride it said ford mustang...v6 or not....so he would have probabaly lost my business for saying some dumb stuff like that.....if it says mustang..guess what its a mustang....just not a 300 hp stang.....two.....ive had those little vw guys challenge me and try to sell me on v dubs....my moms bug is the biggest hunk of doo doo ...its in the shop waaaay too much for being 6 yrs old and well taken care of.....besides i think all vw's sound like buses at WOT....say what you want about my v6 but i have had many ask if its a gt or a shelby....they may not know thier stangs either ...but they are very surprised when i tellem its a six....i put dual cause i wanted the sound and the look of dual exhaust im not trying to pretend im a gt... i like what i like and i like being an underdog...three and last.....i got magna flow dual catbacks....y pipe...the oddest comparison i had someone give me was ( i think this was a compliment) that it souunded a little like a ferarri....

Thing is, I like the sound of my car better than some GTs I've heard. So I'm afraid to change the setup fearing I won't like it. But I really want the dual look. So I'll probably have to do some research in the near future lol.

Ferraris are mostly V12s. They HOWL!
The Ferrari Dino 246GT was a V6.
So, they are right.
And being compared to a FERRARI isn't too bad in my book...
