RE: Minnesota mustangs
Check the TCStangs web site - they're very active.
There's a car show this weekend in Goodhue (June 9 from 9-3), and there will probably be a good representation of Mustangs - there's quite a following in SE MN, but, like you said, it helps to know people.

There's another show in Faribault on July 14 at the fair grounds. Don't know anything about that show, but I'm trying to make that fit into my schedule this year.
Faribault has probably the highest coffee-can-muffler per capita of any community outside the Twin Cities metro. I don't know what causes that, but they're everywhere.
That said, I think there's a fairly high interest in all types of cars, and you may be able to find a good group of Mustangers. Unfortuntaly, I don't have any connections over there (I'm closer to Rochester, but drive through "Faribo" from time to time).
If I find something, I'll let you know!

It's been a long time since I've been to Goodhue, but seems like you should be able to take Hwy 60 all the way to Zumbrota and then take Hwy 58 to Goodhue.
Just do a Google searchon Goodhue Volksfest for their web site.
I'm told that they used to have a muscle car burnout contest after the car show, but it's not on the schedule (not sure if that means anything, maybe they have it, but it's not scheduled).

about the rice cans in Faribo, I think their are so many cause we have the Turkey plant, canning factory and soon the new Aldi distributing center. Makes for a lot of low paid wanna-be's, plus we offer some of the most trash filled trailer parks, LOL

Yup, lots of stuff going on in the Rochester area, and this is the best list of events I've been able to find on the web:
