Default "Y" pipe?

Does this "fake" Y dual sound better than a single, with gt takeoffs?

I think he means, if you hang the LS muffler and pipe it in to the existing midpipe. Sort of like a double Y. I know people have done this. I'm curious about how it would sound, too. However, for a few bucks more, I would go for a proper H or X....

....and that's exactly where I'm at in the decision-making process. The cheap way is to get Jim The Muffler Guy to make me some midpipes and do a big @ss weld job to create an H. Even better would be to order a kit, like Pypes. Even better, still, would be to buy a GT bumper takeoff for around 200 bucks.

If I'm going to go that far, it's worth considering an upgrade to The Dark Side.

yes thats what i was talkin about, cause i heard that an H doesnt help performance that much and may even hurt it cause of back preassure issues, but thanks

Haven't noticed any performance problems with true duals and the "X" pipe.

X or H, the pipes are still connected.

With the amount of insurance $ you save, it will pay for the exhaust over time...

I asked my Ford Dealer if they did the dual conversions. They referred me to a muffler shop and they recommend the X pipe. I know Ford Racing sells X-pipes.
Just be careful about cutting into your head pipes.....from what I understand (I don't know if there is any truth to this) it could void your warranty. That's why I asked Ford first.

How's yourNino's conversion? I am ready to buy the GT500 rear bumper and I am thinking of the same set-uplike yours. I am going your route because just in case I have toput my mustang back to stock. Is there'a any rattling problem?
Thanks.
