Has anyone upgraded their brakes? I was looking for a Wilwood, Baer,Brembo, etc. kit but noone makes one from what I've seen. Any ideas?

Steeda
MustangsUnlimited
Moss Mustang

They all sell Brembo, WillWood etc.
Get some GT takeoff rotors
and some GT takeoff brackets and
swap them out for the GT brakes
in front. Lots cheaper.

You can use any of those if they make an S197 kit you just have to upgrade the GT kit and buy the clips from Ford about $40 each to put the bigger rotor on your car. SSBC makes a kit as well.
You can do great work with the brakes by reading this thread as well: https://mustangforums.com/m_2547493/...tm.htm#2547493Make sure you read the whole section crazy al spits some great info and there is another forum on the web C O L L E C T I V Ethat has a sticky about breaks and where to buy the parts.

Checkout the Shelby section on Hillbank Motorsports or just give them a call and ask for Jason. He'll get you all setup.

the suspension and brakes on the cars are pretty much identical, save for a few parts. but the suspension and brake kits will work on our cars too.

dont we have the same rear brakes as the gt? Just get the gt front brakes...the fronts do the majority of the work, and the gt's weigh almost 300 lbs more than we do, so im sure there is a pretty large increase in stopping power from those things.

I bought a set of Hawk pads from Powerhouse last week, should get them this week and will do a write up of the difference. Buckman linked me to CrazyAl's post and a bunch of other information. That combined with his calls to various performance shops, and my calls to shops as well. The most I will ever do is pads and perhaps larger front rotors. I registered for autox, if I get around to going I will upgrade my lines to ss lines as that is where they will be stressed enough to make a difference.

The GT front brake rotors are larger in diameter than the V6. Calipers are the same. Stock V6wheels will not work with GT front calipers and rotors.
