Default Another dumb newbie question

With our cars (stick shists)putting out over 240 torque, and a respectable 210hp (w/o mods), what would it take to kill a S2000 from a stoplight? That car is supposed to hit 60mph at about 5.5 seconds (I assume with a good driver). That car only puts outsomething like 165 torque... Is it do able w/o going F/I?

lol no, if you are a really good drive in our car you will be able to pull the 0-60 in low 6's. some magazine said 6.2....
that thing is really light weight, and just because it doesnt have the power or torque doesnt mean it cant beat you. unless you want to do some drastic weightloss to your car, you will need f/i

I have f/i and I eat up s2000's all night long...

the sad truth is, if you are not running the 0-60 in the 5's, you probabaly wont be able to play with the good imports

S2000's are really light and rev REALLY high (9000). Torque doesnt matter on a car that can rev that high.

I would still rather have a low rpm torque engine. Using high rpms to compensate for low torque is like buying big things to compensate for a small "thing".

Well...just to play devil's advocate...

We do have bigger engines than they do...well, most of them. Don't get me wrong though, this is the six forum after all. None of us have anything we need compensating for.

Default What about...

Pulleys, intake, tune, alum driveshaft, gears, shorty shifter...? Do you think it would be close? I'm just so sick of the 4 banger crowd.... Another story. It's just that the S2000 seems to be the "pimp daddy" of the 4 banger crowd and it would great to be the pants off of one with "just" a V6.

So let it be the "pimp daddy" you have nothing to prove.
