for a one time disable, if you quickly buckle and unbuckle the belt, the chime will be disabled for that ignition cycle.
theres a perm. way to disable it, but can't think of it off the top of my head. it should be in your manual

i bet he didn't know that, and this post is gonna make him keep that chime . I want to get rid of it because whenever i put my backpack and **** on that seat it beeps at me and its annoying as hell. I always wear my seatbelt, but sometimes there is a reason to get rid of that chime.

Put your backpack in the back seat or in the trunk.
Now my mom, being from NC, calls the trunk the boot. Her cousins used to bootleg whiskey to the Kennedy's back in the '30s & '40s.

8cd03gro, that little chime says your backpack (aka man purse) is too heavy. Dump some stuff. or throw it in the backseat or trunk. That way if you pickup hotties, you won't spend time moving stuff around so the hottie can sit up front with you.

jokes aside, I read somewhere in the manual that the seatbelt chime will go off if something in the seat is heavier than 70lbs and there's a weight that the airbag is disarmed to prevent unwanted discharge.

Tell them to wear their seatbelt? If you crash and they die, just think how bad you will feel that they died because you didn't want to tell them to wear a seatbelt.
