Default Question for those with Auto Trans

I have been noticing this wierd thing happen with my car for the last 2 months(not counting the month in the shop)

when I am driving and I put my break on to slow down and then get into say what feels like high first low 2nd and then I push on the gas my car lurches... Im not talking about the normal shift between gears. No, this is a harsh make your neck hurt feeling.

It only happens if I put the break on and then step on the gas...or if I am finishing a turn and then step on the gas and only when im in low gears..

has anyone else felt this or had an idea what it might be?

yup. i like it personally but if you want a super smooth drive, it may get bothersome. whats happening is that it drops back to first often then kicks back to second, third, so forth. its like slowing down in 3rd or forth gear pressing the brake on a manual and then downshifting to first to accelerate again. you'll get a high reving kick in the *** when you hit the pedal again. keep in mind that these 4.0's are very torqy compared to other v6's on the road. i think some tuning may fix your problem or others on this forum could give you some more technical advice.

Mine did that to when turning. One turn in particular when going to work. From a two lane highway onto antoher two lane highway with cars always sitting there at the stop sign. It's very sharp and I practically have to stop before turning. It would grab second then grab first whenI gave it some gas.
With the tune it will grab first before I give it gas. Feels much better.

You can always shift manually if you happen to have the same problem at the same place every day.

There are some nice winding roads on my way to work and I know the auto would tryto go into5th as I'm braking, and then drop down to 2nd when I hit the gas around the "S" bend(and probably barking the tires), but I prefer to downshift to 3rd for the stretch before the turn, then drop to 2nd to climb the double "S" hill... manually upshifting at 3000 RPM until back in D. Overdrive gets turned back on once we are level.

Just feels "right" if you know what I mean.

Even after my 91 B am a tune, I had a similar problem, only not nearly as bad.
I changed the shift pressures to 10% this weekend and it shifts a lot smoother.
And on the parkway I noticed that it doesnt lunge forward when letting off the gas then getting back on it.
Its just a smooth transition.
Are there any potential problems with me changing this?
The tires dont chirp between shifts, it's not even that hard of a shift, just a little quicker.
