The timeliness of your post is kinda funny for me. I have had my car for 10 months and did not know this till last Friday! I had a bottle of water "sweat" and when I went to dry out the holder with a paper towel I discovered this hidden feature by accident.

When I got my car from the dealer they threw in a detail job since the car was a little dusty from road construction nearby. I guess when they were detailing the car they pulled mine out and forgot to put it back in. when I sat down to drive it off the lot it was sitting in the passenger seat...kinda figured it out by accident thanks to their laziness.
Unfortunately I also learned that sometimes you need to be very careful reaching under the seat for razor blades used to take the window sticker out!![:@]

Wow, I just discovered this a month ago! I'd had my car for over a year! That's so crazy I've never noticed until now! Wonder how many other secrets my Stang holds...

Awesome! Since I have a stick, it will come in handy with taller cups. It was cumbersome trying to reach around the cup all the time! As soon as I get my Stang back from the shop (they are installing duals), I'll check out this feature.
