Default proper take off

so i was checking otu some vids on youtube and ran across this guy who gives how to properly get the 0-60 time in a vette and was wondering if it's the same for us http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYZ0hW6aDas&NR=1

if you have a manual pretty much. You can rev higher than 1500rpms to like lets say 4K(thats what I launch at) and just feather the clutch. The donwside to this is burning up your clutch by 20K miles(if you do it alot).

That guy seemed kind of gay to me though.
