hey guys i just began installation on om SCT tune and thought i was finding everyhting pretty simple and when i went to instal the tune the tuner read wrong vehicle....i was just wondering if ay one knew what to do or y this is doing this...a promt response would be great....im kinda stuck right now thank u very much

 

Contact the vendor you got the SCT from.

 

i bought it used from a guy here on the forum and i tired calling SCT but there closed till monday i was wondering if anyone here had this problem or knew what to do before monday

 

Did you buy a tune for your car? or are you trying to load the one he was using?
1. The tuner needs to be unlocked
2. You purchase, download a tune for your car.
3. Load the tune on the tuner
4. Program your car

 

i never bought i tune i tried to load the tunes that where on the tuner. how do i do those four steps unlock it ad everythign. also i installed the the C&L CAI that came with it and when i drove it the throttle response was terrible and when it would catch soon after the engine would bog down. has this happened to anyone or anyone kno what is wrong. im stating to feel like i should have just bought it new huh.

 

the tuner needs to be "un-married" from the previous owner's ecu. You're gonna have to have sct do that. Before you call, get the 4-digit code on your ECU, cause they are gonna need that information to do it. Your ecu is right here- there will be a sticker with a 4-digit (numbers an letters combined) code that you will have to give to them.

You can NOT run the C&L without retuning the car. Put the stock airbox back on 'til you sort out your SCT issue.
