Default cutting bumper for takeoffs

I read through all of the FAQ's I could find, but there wasn't anything listed about cutting up my stock bumper to make room for the dual exhaust - - so I'm coming to you guys and gals.

I know the easiest thing to do would probably order a GT bumper from newtakeoffs or something, but I really would rather save my money for performance mods - - and I know there are people out here that have done what I am wanting to do...so I am asking for a little help here.

I know pypes has a template and I have already printed that out, but I wanted to know what the experience was like for those who have done it.

THANKS!!

I made my own template and used a jig saw with a fine blade . Make sure you cut a little inside the line at first. You can always recut or sand it out to the exact shape .

Did this just two weeks ago. Used the Pypes template and measured for placement -many- times!
I wanted to be in control of the cut forminimal chance of error, so I used a fine tooth hacksaw blade and
trimmed it by hand (15-20 mins) Wrapped sandpaper around a Powerade bottle and made a oneway directional
spin to even it out. Cut was perfect! Completely satisfied with the V6 bumper duals look! Also very satisfied with
the JBA full stainless Y-pipe system!

so you order GT take offs ($80), remove old, install/clamp 1 new "working" muffler and the drivers side is just "hung" (with bumber cut out), not clamp onto anything???

GT look, a little (or alot) more rumble from the 1 muffler?

So you get an apperence mod with some tone, do I have it correct?

i cut mine with a sharp box cutter knife. plastic cut like butter (well, hard butter). pretty soft plastic. i just measured the width on the passenger side and eyeballed the location on the driver side and then just cut away. came out very clean. people thought it was factory cut.

I haven't experienced any troubles. No drone or pipe rattles either. I went with the reverse Y setup because I didn't want to cut 3 pipes instead of just the one. To be honest though, I didn't hear a signifigant difference in sound between the Y pipe setup and the H pipe setup from JBA. I also like that I'm not losing atremendous amount of backpressure with true duals; actually felt more throttle response/better acceleration.
