It probably depends on how hard you are on the engine. All the IC allows you to do is run higher boost which translates into more hp/tq. The numbers are kinda close as far as boost, so I would say there is little difference.

The larger the explosion the more wear/damage it can potentially cause to the engine.

an intercooled sc at 8 psi will be better on the engine than a non intercooled one at 7 psi. the heat is what causes detonation, usually.

If the the SC is installedcorrectlyand your car is tuned properlythere shouldn'tbeany detonation issues.

true, but having it intercooled will give a safety net of sorts. like in case of some bad gas or something.

Lower boost-lower IAT atboost ... higher boost +intercooled- lower IAT at boost... the intercooler allows you to run more boost by lowering IAT. (a cooler IAT also adds HP)Ifthe intercooled and non-intercooled IATs are within a couple of degrees"bad gas"will cause the same problems in both vehicles. A bad tune with "bad gas" could also send the engine to the waste basket intercooled or not. Your margin of safetydepends on how far toward the edge of the envelope your running with your tune.
A quality dyno tune is your best insurance against detonation. (Oh, and buying good gas )
