Default WOT?

What's a safe number of times to floor the 4.0 weekly w/o hurting the engine in the long run?, I'm gonna keep my 4.0 for at least another 30k-40k more miles and don't want to hurt the powertrain or drivetrain. Now I floor the car anywhere between 5 and 10 times a week. Is that OK?
Thanx for the help ahead of time!

Ya im curious about this myself, turnpike traffic/I4 gets pretty crowded and you get the elderly who RIDE THE FRICKEN LEFT LANE, so WOT is a usual for me[8D]. I just hope it doesnt bite me in the *** in the long run.

From what I understand, the factory setup that comes from Ford keeps the engine running well below what it's actually capable of doing, so you're probably okay walking on it. Remember, it's a car engine. Lots of metal and everything. It's not really that sensitive. As long as you're not holding it at 5000 rpms for extended periods of time, your car should be fine in the long run.

It's a little sports car; they're made to take some thumping from time to time. Just drive it, have fun. If you drive your Mustang like a grandma, you're really not getting anything out of it.

I floor it every time I get on the highway... that's why I bought this car.. I put a little money into it to make it sound better.. and be a little peppier.. not for that rare moment.. but for when I need to hear it.. which is often.

I understand the urge to run every once and awhile, but try to take it easy. Driving it hard puts more stress on the car than reasonalbe drivng. The first problem would probably occur in an auto trans where the shifts are at higher rpms. Just because your not drivng like a senor citizen does not make you cooler, more of a man, or make your car any faster. Any dumbass can rag out a car, leave that to the ricers, drive with some class. I try to limit hard runs (15-100) as much I as I can. The last time I did that was when I got myH-pipe installed in April. Not to say I have got it sideway once or twice, but thats a rare occaison. Enjoy the car within reason, keep it running strong, and you be glad you did.

Don't forget to talk to it, take it out to dinner, buy it flowers, and you not leave that toilet seat up.
