Duals are better.
Performance is about the same as a good low restriction single.

Can't beat the look of duals.

PS: I have the Pypes "true duals"

Never liked the sound of those.
I looked for 2 months before picking the Pypes setup.
The Street Pros are loud as Hell and rumble like a V8 at low RPMs.
I get comments from GT owners thinking its a V8.
Love it.
Also a LOT cheaper than MRTs, Flowmasters, MagnaFlows, etc...

Yeah, listen to Bob. Stay away from the MRT...it's is just way too annoying. I have had it on for almost a year and it is really starting to get to me so it will be coming out as soon as I can get a new exhaust. I can deal with it, but I try to accelerate as slowly as possible...I never go above 2K as it just has a bad high pitch. If you do go that route get a resonator, but I would recommend the Pypes or JBA just released an all stainless steel exhause that is nice.
