Default Friend wants a 05+ V6... help please!

Alright here's what's up...

My friend =
Looking for a new (used)car.
Preferably 05-06 v6 automatic

Were there any first year problems for the 2005 mustangs coming out of the factory?
If so, what?
Were these problems fixed in 2006?

I'm not familiar with the new V6'ers so ANY and ALL information is welcome.

There is a section above called TSB's. As far as I know there were no recalls. Its a very dependable car. It has some minor issues like the tank couldn't be filled all the way, and a few minor things.
This is a good platform and the motor is great.

I just got my 2005 V6 Torchred about 2 months ago, and no problems what so ever. It is just a good quality car, and like someone stated before, the motor is outstanding. Good luck on your search, I am sure he wont be dissapointed.

He might be better off by going to a dealer and seeing what kind of a deal he can make on a new 2007. It seems that ford is trying to move the leftover 2007's out with cash back and free Pony Package. That way you are not buying some else's problems.

i have a 2005 the i got in november of 04. right when they came out, and the only problems that i have is at some pumps my tank wont fill all the way so u have to mess with the spout and pull it out some but you can still fill it, just takes a little bit of effort. other then that the only thing that has brokenis my power windows ( going up) on my driverside window. all minor stuff. tell him to go with it, if he can find an 06 even better. 07's are the same except they have a wierd wing on the back(jmo). i prefer the GT spoiler but thats me. either way he isbuying a great car with an amazing platform for modding.

This personal perference but, get a 5speed, even if he cant drive a stick yet. It wont take long to learn, and shifting provides you with more driver input.

they are both 5 speeds, but yes the manual is more fun, even tho i love my auto. you can feel alot more of the torque with a manual.

I have to agree with you about the 5 speed manual. I bought the V6 auto Mustang because I intended it to be my daily driver but I now have a 2006 Pontiac G6 2 door coupe that I use as a daily driver. I thought I might get tired of shifting if I had to drive the Mustang every day. Every time I drive my wife's 2000 Corvette convertible with 6 speed I kick myself for not getting the 5 speed manual on the Mustang! I love to get on it in the Corvette and take it up to 70 MPH in 3rd gear while getting on the freeway. In 6th gear it is only turning 1500 RPM at 70 MPH andthe Corvette gets over 33 MPG on the highway.
