Tom morana racing was working on a 4.5l stroker for a while, but i beleive they scrapped the idea. There are no others yet.

07lane40, I have a GT, and from what I've seen over the years, you don't need 8 cylinders to prove to me you can go fast! I've been keeping an eye on the strokers available for the 4.6, if I see anything for the 4.0 I'll let you know.

hey, thanks guys!

you see, I havent heard anything at all, but that 4.5 stroker sounds sick, i hope they havent scrapped it. i was hoping the new block could handle something bigger than the old 4.2 stroker.

thanks, and keep me posted if you hear anything else!

also, whats the difference between my SOHC 4.0 and the OHV 4.0, because i looked up the Tom Morana racing stuff and it said it did have a 4.5L stroker kit, but it was for OHV engines only.

not without a crank. thats the whole "stroker" part of it basically. thats a bit more than "custom" work. its manufacturing

I wouldn't hold my breath on a stroker kit ever coming out for the 4.0
The 3.8 was easy as Ford made 4.2 in the trucks so longer stroke cranks were(are) available.
The 4.0 has no such luxury. No easy swap for a longer stroke crank and no cost effective way to add stroke to the existingcrank. The price of a custom one-off would be staggering.

without a stroker crank there are ways to increase your displacement. The most popular being to grind the rod journals down and use a smaller rod end, that will give you more stroke. Using longer rods with the wrist moved up in the piston will also. Smaller rod journals spin faster than larger ones, so you will get more wear over time. You need to find a high line engine builder and pick his brain. Having all your engine specs with you will help, rod journal size, rod length, wrist pin size, wrist pin to piston crown length, etc. Good luck !
