When I started dreaming of a S197 back in 2006, I thought I had ran across a web post or 2 that implied that early 2005 V6 Mustangs were available with factory dual exhaust. Is there any truth to this?

definately not never heard of such a thing id be nice if they did tho, why not new base altimas do with only 170 hp

again.....its a marketing strategy. duals on 6ers would steal sales away from GTs. the educated buyers will buy what they know they want but others will buy whatever a salesman sells them and 6ers have a better chance of selling than the higher priced GT. As for the altima, i wouldn't be surprised if they dropped their 3.5L altima since the maxima has the same size engine with even better performance. duals on a 4banger doesn't make much sense but nissan is taking advantage of sales trends and putting them on their 2.5's anyway. they know they will sell with these "bling bling, phony phony" features. just my theory however.

My buddy has a 05 and it has dual cats allowing him to run emission leagal duals, but a far as "dual" exhaust on a 2.5 4cyl is rediculous. I saw one in the cold, it was only spraying out one side, why does anyone expect the exhaust gases to come to a "T" junction and then equally split up?

I know at my dealer they have some '07 6ers with duals but it also has a lot of other body modding to it as well as mark-up. The salesmen told me Ford sends them out to be souped up and then puts a hefty price tag to it.

I have heard rumors that the 2008 V6 has an optional Performance Package that includes duals and a CAI and performance tune. If it's true, I'd like Ford to install a CAI & tune on mine!

The Performance Package might be like the Shelby GT/Hertz GT-H deal where they put on a FRPP cone filter/ heat shield, added a premium octane tune, and some less rescritivemufflers(still nowhere near loud). The above mentioned cars are rated at 25HP more than the base GT.

well there it is......the dealerships are responsible. not the factory. makes more sense now. i doubt ford would have done that on their own with a GT available.

the stampede edition had duals from the factory. it was not a dealer thing. it also had a tlok and rally stripes
