Default More horsepower!

Hey guys,

I am looking to make my 06 pony package a bit more powerful. Some of my friends have been telling me about chips for the cars that would add 40-50 hp. These "miracle chips" sound like, well, miracles! I would love to get one of those but I dont know if they exist. Do any of you know of any ways to make the car faster? I already have a JBA exhaust on the car. I was leaning towards a CAI with a chip or tuner. Let me know what you guys think. How would you make your car faster (other than a supercharger) and how much hp would it add?

Thanks a lot!

A good cai (cold air intake) with a tuner (SCT xcal II) will yield 25-30 hp. Gears/limited slip differential will make the car accelerate alot faster. Shorty headers will provide minimal gains, but long tubes should give you a little more. A underdrive pulley will give you about 5-8 rwhp.

actually, i was speaking with a Rep. from Pypes exhaust and was telling him about my plan for longtube headers and high flo cats, and he said that the cats were NOTworth it cause ours flow at 300cfm and the hi-flos go at 400 cfm,so we wont feel a difference. also he told me that if i put longtubes on the car i would be experiencing leaks alot and that even if they wouldnt leak and i got them to seal properly, the car would fall flat on its face. meaning its actually gonna LOSE HP. he said shorty headers would work best, until you go FI, in which then the longtubes only MIGHT make a difference. so in short a catback exhaust will yeild the most benefit for our V6s. a good flowing exhaust is good, but you CAN have one that flows too much. just stick with your JBA cat back, until you go FI. and like Black06Stang said pick a good cai and tuner and that will be good for now.

You can't get 40 - 50 hp with a "chip". You can get up to 30 with a single after market axle back muffler and CAI/Tune combo.
