I'd like to see pictures of your cai. If it looks cool you could go into the cai business. Does youy cai require a tune? Actually I'd like to see pictures of your car with the Saleen hood.

i would just buy the VMP intake for $99. or if you have a specific filter in mind other than the one that comes with the VMP version, i would just ask justin if he could sell only the MAF housing.

yeah sancho85 is right. You gain nothing if your MAF is no larger than factory. That is why a CAI cost what they do, it comes with a larger MAF. You can jerry rig as bigger pipe as you want but will still be restricted to the factory MAF, and when you install a CAI with a larger than factory MAF, that is when a tune is required.

right on, except that not all intake kits come with a larger than stock MAF housing (actually most don't) so that they won't require a tune. the ones i know of that DO reuire a tune would be the C&L, MMR, JLT, STEEDA and also the VMP i mentioned earlier since the MAF housing that VMP uses is 3"inner diameter. my AEM uses stock diameter housing also but i plan on getting a C&L hopefully in the near future. i really like the look of a metal pipe under my hood.

So a tuner/cai combo would give me maybe 15rwhp? This is my daily driver (gto for fun) but I just cant stand the lag of the auto in the stang.

Its said around 25 but I would think thats an optomistic rating. A tuner will get rid of the lag too.
