have them put the car back together. change the oil to motorcraft, then take it to another dealership about your grinding problem. if that don't work, raise hell till they fix the problem. they have more to lose than you do, believe it or not. good luck.

I usually take it in and have the dealer change the oil anyway. When I go to take my Mustang in for the 1st time, I will be watching! They have glass windows and doorsin one of the customer areas so you can watch the mechanics.
Mark your filter and see if they actually replace it.
Caught my stealership trying to get away with not
replacing it. They said they do it every other oil
change and not everytime. They changed it in the
end after pulling a stink. Sign the filter with a sharpie
before letting the yahoos at it.

How could they tell it was Royal Purple?
Did you tell them it was Royal Purple?
How did you get "caught"? Leave the
empty bottles in the trunk or put a Royal
Purple sticker on your stang??

Well... Royal Purple Syncromax is darkpurple in color and not red like Mercon ATF. Dead give away when they drained andtore open the transmission. I spoke with the stealership this morning and in order for them to just put it back together I would owe them the cost of labor. I told them to just go ahead and fix it. I am in the market for 2 F-350's for work and made sure to let the sales department know that because of this I would not be buyingfrom them. They of course said they wouldsee what they can do.

Well, I don't think they can require that you use a certain brand of fluid unless they are going to be doing the maintnance for free. But what they can do is tell you that you have to use products that meet or exceed a certain standard and are of a certain type. And if you don't use a brand that is up to the same standard or the same type of product then they can refuse warranty coverage.

what was the cost of labor? How much did they take apart? at most i would think they took the trans pan off. I would put it back together and get ford involved...they are trying to rip you off.
RP or any other trans fluid doesnt matter. I think it even say to run ATF in the manual.
